Kentucky Sharps Shooters Rifle , made by J.C. Short of: Lexington Kentucky and Danville Kentucky, Circa 1857. He moved to Tyler Texas in 1861 and joined the "Short Brisco Co". To make the famous Tyler Texas Rifle for the Confederate Government, while there he continued to make these half stock sharps shooters rifles. 

This rifle has a 36" barrel, set trigger, keyed barrel, drum sight and old repair on the wrist of the gun.
