Original Rev-War sword with scabbard.
This is a rare sword with its original scabbard there are similar swords pictured in Neumann's book on page 16. Sword and blades of the American Revolution. The blade is 25 1/2 inches long 1 1/4 inch wide. The blade is engraved with a crown and the initials RWF below it. I believe this is for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, they were German mercenaries and fought at the battle of white plains, during the revolutionary war , the guard is stamped 3.NO.112.28.LR and on the heart-shaped guard is marked I.Y.I.6, great piece.
